Need help understanding the travel rules?
I hear you! That’s why I’ve pulled together every test, form and quarantine you need to do abide by all the Covid travel rules and to visit France.
France Travel Rules
Travelling to France
Vaccinated and unvaccinated UK travellers
Fully vaccinated UK travellers can visit France without quarantine or a Covid-19 test. See below for requirements for children and unvaccinated travellers.
France travel rules for vaccinated travellers from UK
Before you travel to France
• Show proof of vaccination – France accepts the NHS Covid Pass
• You may also be asked to complete the EU-PLF form before boarding
To be recognised as fully vaccinated, you must have have had a full course of a recognised vaccine (e.g. 2 doses of a 2 dose vaccine) at least 7 days before you arrive (28 days if you had Johnson & Johnson). If your final dose was more than 9 months ago, you must also have had a booster.
Travellers aged over 18 and one month who do not meet these requirements must follow the rules for unvaccinated passengers.
The French Ministry of the Interior website states that all children under 12 are exempt from all COVID-19 travel restrictions.
For travellers aged 12 to 18, please see the sections above for vaccinated and unvaccinated travellers. In addition, depending on vaccination status and that of any accompanying adult, you may be required to provide other documentation. You should consult the full details on the French Embassy in the UK’s website.
From 31 March 2022, travellers from the UK aged 12 years and over who are not fully vaccinated need to provide:
- A negative PCR test result taken within 72 hours or an antigen test result taken within 48 hours pre-departure.
You may also be asked to complete the EU-PLF form before boarding.
NHS tests will not be accepted – you must book your tests privately
