Berat, often referred to as the “City of a Thousand Windows,” is a charming and enchanting Albanian city that transports you back in time with its ancient architecture and cobbled streets. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage site, and you’ll see why once you explore the intricate Ottoman buildings and historic landmarks.

The old city is a short 1.5hrs drive from Tirana, so perfect for a day trip. Guided tours leave from the capital daily and generally include:

  • Transport with an air-conditioned vehicle, a city tour of Berat, and a driver and guide
  • Tour of historic neighbourhoods of Mangalemi, Gorica, and Kala
  • Berat Castle
  • The Red Mosque
  • St. Trinity Church
  • Museum of Iconography and National Ethnographic Museum
