Visit St. John’s Co-Cathedral in Valletta

Affordable
Overview

Visiting the capital’s cathedral may be an obvious choice, but we were completely blown away by the sheer opulence found within St. John’s Co-Cathedral walls.

The cathedral’s fancy style is a snapshot of the Baroque art and architecture of the 16th and 17th Centuries. Historically, it was heavily invested in by the Knights of St. John, a medieval Catholic military order known for their wealth and power. The Knights were all in, wanting to show off their love for the Catholic faith. So, they went all out, decking out the cathedral with intricate carvings, mural paintings, sculptures and richly decorated chapels.

Our top tip is to find the steps tucked away near the exit to head up to the balcony to get an unbelievable view of the entire place.

Entry costs €15 (£13.05) for adults and is free for children under 12.
