Tour Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter

Free
Overview

If you’re up for a relaxed and enjoyable time in Barcelona, consider wandering through the Gothic Quarter. This part of the city used to be a Roman village, and today, it’s a fascinating mix of old Gothic buildings and newer structures that reflect Barcelona’s medieval heritage.

You’ll find peaceful squares (they call them plaรงas here) where you can take a breather. If shopping is on your list, head to Calle Portal de L’Angel for big-name stores or explore Calle Avinyo for cute little boutiques. The Gothic Quarter is also home to the stunning Cathedral of Barcelona and the Museu d’Histรฒria de Barcelona, which showcases the remnants of the Roman city. It’s a great spot to get a taste of Barcelona’s history and culture while enjoying a leisurely day out.
