Take a Paris Sleeper Train

Affordable
Overview

Paris is a major train hub, so if you’re hoping to use a city as a springboard for others, then this is a great shout! Especially as there’s a good choice of sleeper trains so you can get further afield in Europe whilst catching up on some shut eye.

The sleeper train options include:

  • Paris-Toulon-St Raphael-Cannes-Antibes-Nice
  • Paris-Toulouse-Latour de Carol (with connection to Barcelona)
  • Paris-Tarbes-Lourdes
  • Paris-Rodez
  • Paris-Briancon
  • Paris-Perpignan-Narbonne-Cerbère
  • Paris-Biarritz-Hendaye

I took the Nightjet train from Vienna to Paris and had so much fun! I opted for a couchette, meaning I had to share with up to 5 other people, but ended up with 3 other German women who joined my train at Munich. You can select a women only carriage – which is what I did – or go for a mixed couchette instead. The cheapest option is to go for a seat – my best of luck to you for getting some rest there! – or you can splurge by opting for a private compartment.

It’s such an adventure, I really recommend it!
