Jog Down The Seine River

Free
Overview

Paris’ Seine River is an hang out spot for many Parisians. The river runs right through the city, and a bunch of iconic monuments are situated nearby. So it offers the perfect route for a morning jog and doubles up as an opportunity to take in some of the city’s key sites.

Okay, now I know this isn’t probably top of your holiday to do list but the last time I was in Paris, I was training for the marathon (bragging) and so I decided to run with my finishing point in plain sight: the Eiffel tower!

The great thing about running along the Seine is that there are lots of pedestrianised points so you’re not constantly having to cross roads. The not-so-great thing about running along the Seine is that it can smell a bit pissy under some of the bridges… Ha!
I went for my run around lunchtime and there were loads of locals out jogging on their lunch hours so that was a nice feeling!
That and I was able to tick off lots of tourist hotspots on my run, clocking Pont Neuf bridge, Sainte-Chapelle chapel and Musée d’Orsay on my way.

Travelling towards the river’s western direction, you’ll also see famous sites like the Louvre, Jardin de Tuileries, and the Museum of Modern Art along the way.
