Get free accommodation by house sitting
Finding free accommodation doesn’t need to be difficult. In fact, I’ve done it twice! Here’s how I do it by using house sitting websites.
Kip Hotel consistently comes up as one of the cheapest places to book a room in London and whilst this is a pretty basic 2 star hotel, I’m impressed with the fact they’ve thought through what it looks like too.
Though please note – some rooms don’t have windows and some have shared bathrooms, so make sure you read through your room type before you hit book. If you’re after a kitchen, make sure you book one of their studios.
However, to me the real perk of Kip is not the hotel itself, but the location.
If you’re after a London stay away from the tourist spots, you’ve picked a perfect spot in Hackney to explore the many fantastic food and drink venues, as well as the beautiful parks.
For boozers, check out The Gun and microbrewery, Hackney Church Brew Co. As for food, Bánh Mì Hội-An is a great choice for Vietnamese sandwiches, and stop for vegan fast food at the Temple of Hackney.
I also recommend both London Fields (go for a swim in their Lido!) and Victoria Park for a wander and nearby Broadway Market – open on a Saturday – is one of my favourite markets in London! For a longer day trip, get yourself over to Hackney Wick for even more food, booze and walks along the cancel.
