The luxury Hotel 1898 is right in the heart of the Barcelona’s famous La Rambla. This meticulously restored 19th-century gem, which was once the headquarters of the General Philippines Tobacco Company, offers a rooftop pool with a sun terrace. The building itself, designed by renowned Catalan architect Josep Oriol Mestres, dates back to 1881!

There are 169 rooms and suites, and they don’t skimp on the bathroom goodies – you get bathrobes and comfy slippers.

If you want a bit off relaxation, they’ve got a spa with all the bells and whistles – indoor pool, saunas, steam bath – the works. The separate rooftop pool is great for catching some rays and enjoying tapas and cocktails with a city view.

If you need to get some work done or just want to curl up with a good book, they’ve got a business center and library.

Kickstart your day with a sumptuous buffet breakfast, offering an array of pastries, fresh produce, hot dishes, cava, seasonal fruit, and special options for gluten-free and vegetarian guests. There’s even a late breakfast option in the lobby from 11 am to 1 pm. For dinner, you can indulge in the delights of El Nido Restaurant, located on the first floor with a view overlooking La Rambla.

The staff are known for their friendliness and they might even surprise you with some complimentary drinks or a room upgrade for special occasions. Safety-wise, they’ve got things covered – you need your hotel key to use the elevator and access your room, so you can rest easy.
