Head to Carrer de Blai for Pincho Bars

Pinchos are delightful small bites of food served on toothpicks or sticks, found all over Spain. They come in all sorts of flavors, from simple bites like olives and cheese to fancier options with seafood or meat.

It’s not just about the food there’s a big social element to it too. You grab a plate, pick your pinchos, and eat with friends while washing it all down with some wine or beer. Nowhere has more pincho bars than Barcelona’s Carrer de Blai! Here are some top places to visit on Carrer de Blai:

  • Las Tasqueta de Blai is incredibly popular, attracting a steady flow of crowds due to its reputation for serving some of the best pinchos in the area.  A single pincho starts at €1.90. Check out their menu here.
  • Pincho J is great for seafood. Find a seat, grab a pencil and a piece of paper. Each tapas item is assigned a unique number. So, on your small piece of paper, simply jot down the number of the pincho you’d like and the quantity. Super simple! They’re also super affordable, which is always a plus. There pinchos are priced between €1.50 and €2.20.
  • Zodiaco has a wide variety of pinchos to choose from, and item cards that have English descriptions, which is handy. The very unique ambiance adds to the experience, with 60s American music like Billy Joel playing in the background. It’s a bit more budget-friendly compared to other bars on the street, with prices starting at €1. However, the quality is just as good!
