The Best Hostels in Paris

The People – Paris Marais

The People has a few hostels dotted around the city, and they’re known for offering slightly fancier but still good value dormitory stays. The People – Paris Marais is smack in the centre of Paris just next to the River Seine, so you can enjoy lots of buzzing restaurants and bars, and you’re in close proximity to plenty of metro stations. The dorm beds come with that oh-so-important privacy curtain and small lockers for your things. They also have affordable private rooms for those who want the hostel feel without having to share a room. Expect happy hours at the hostel bar, live music and karaoke nights, pub crawls and bike tours.

JO&JOE Paris – Nation

The Best Budget Hotels in Paris

Perched on the outskirts of the city in Saint-Ouen, MOB HOTEL is a very affordable 4 star option for those who want a taste of luxury. This place has immaculate rooms, a tasty restaurant and a chic cocktail bar. Even though it’s not smack in the middle of the city, the location isn’t too far out. It’s also right next to the famous Saint Ouen flea market. If you’re arriving by car, it’s handy, as the location is right off the ring road (Boulevard Périphérique). However, if you’re coming from Paris on foot you’ll have to catch the metro; once you exit Garibaldi metro station it’s a six-minute walk to the hotel.

I’ve stayed in this one a couple of times and it always does the trick! Also, it often doesn’t show up in search results if you’re searching for Paris since it’s *technically* outside the centre and so it’s a good one to know about!

Amenities: Sun terrace, happy hour bar, live music, restaurant, pets allowed
Prices: Rooms start at around £70 per person, per night

Le Grand Albert 1er

Le Grand Albert 1er is located in the ideal spot: a peaceful Parisian neighbourhood, surrounded by lots of restaurants and a supermarket nearby, and it’s only a three-minute stroll from the metro station. The rooms have big windows that let in tons of natural light, making them super welcoming and comfy. Plus, the hotel recently got a makeover, so the decor is really modern and gives off those cool boutique hotel vibes. They also do a pretty good breakfast.
